The term transpersonal means beyond or through the personal, and refers to experiences, processes and events that transcend our usual limited sense of identity, allowing us to experience a greater and more meaningful reality. It recognises transcendental life experiences as factors of growth and expansion of the person. It opens up our vision to include ourselves as part of a bigger picture in which all is interconnected.
In the process of transpersonal therapy we always begin with the origin of the person — the autobiography, the experiences that marked our path of life, the trauma imprints recorded in the body and soul and often hidden in the unconscious mind. Re-signifying the past and making peace with ourselves — with our guilt, our regret, our judgment, our shame… are the two most important steps that we can take towards liberation and inner peace. Then we can let go and find ourselves in the transpersonal space with an embodied understanding that we are more than what has happened to us, that we are more than the story we carry.

Connecting with your inner child

When we finally let go of the story we come into connection with a deeper part of ourselves that has remained invulnerable and innocent. This is our light, the capacity we all have to shine, no matter how dark our surroundings are or have been. Our shinny child, our inner flame always within.
From shadow to light

My own personal life journey and my clients’ experiences, have reinforced in me and my work the deep belief that we are much more than the result of our story, much more than vulnerable victims of the circumstances around us.
We have within us what we need to thrive and, with it, the inner wisdom to find our path. But sometimes the light that we are gets shadowed by layers and layers of density that we cannot manage, we forget the light that once shined within us and begin to identify with the density, with the sorrow, the anxiety, the guilt, the shame… We feel darkness where once was there was light and we can no longer find the centre — our heart-anchor.
It is in moments like this that we need help. Others can remind us who we “really” are.
I like to describe therapy as a path towards the light. Together, client and therapist approach that brightness gradually, lovingly and compassionately. Walking together with me this winter my hope is to offer you the courage to look inside, accept what you see and transcend the wound by elevating your consciousness, to eventually experience what Rumi said eight hundred years ago:
The wound is the place where the Light enters you

Healing the emotional recordings that keep your energy trapped in the past and, thereby, your vitality in the present low or distorted.
Releasing your family tree from unhelpful beliefs, liberating yourself from what is not genuinely yours.
Harmonising your inner child and your adult by connecting to your emotional landscape from your present self.
Creative practises, including guided journeys and somatic movement to connect to your unconscious.
